Vinton Unlimited's Destination Vinton committee was excited to welcome Lois Reynolds of the Iowa Trust-Centerville Bank and Diane Clester of the People's State Bank - Albia and their bus group of 50 people from south-central Iowa Centerville and Albia to Vinton this past Tuesday.

Our visitors had the opportunity to experience many great activities in Vinton including: the Iowa Braille & Sight Saving School, Brian Parr Carvings (with a live demonstration), Wall Dog Murals, Lunch at the Vinton Country Club, Shopping, A tour of the Vinton Train Depot, and a tour of Old School Produce.

This was the first of several bus tours coming to Vinton this year and we heard nothing but great things from the participants.  Lois said her entire group loved their time in Vinton and felt welcomed by everyone they came in contact with. Vinton Unlimited & Destination Vinton look forward to bringing more groups to our community and would welcome participation from anyone in the community who would like to get involved in the tourism activities for Vinton!

Thanks to the local residents who shared their insights into Vinton's attractions: Van Zimmer (courthouse) Phil Borleske (depot) Nancy Beckman, Robert Spangler and Caolyn Hibbs (Iowa Braille School). Thanks to McDonald's for providing coffee and Pizza Ranch for the warm cactus bread they donated.
