FFA and the Officer Team were some of the latest taking the ALS Bucket Challenge
On August 25th, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA had their first chapter meeting of the 2014-2015 school year. The meeting started at 6:30 with 40 members present. At this meeting a lot was accomplished- from constitutional changes to shirt designs for the year. The members also met the new FFA assistant, Ms. Hill!
After the meeting ended we set up nine-square in the back of the school for members to play, but instead of playing right away the members all stood and watched the officer team get soaked! Mrs. Fleming, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Advisor, nominated the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Officer team to do the ALS ice bucket challenge.
The officer team took the challenge and donated to the ALS Association along with nominating the Benton Community FFA officer team and the La Porte- Dysart officer team to do the challenge.
The night was fun and the water was refreshing! The chapter is planning for a great year with an increase of membership and fun. We will be holding the next meeting on September 8th.
