Keith Elwick asked a few friends, before putting his memories, if they thought such a book is something people would buy.
The line that filled Nature's Corner on Thursday morning gave him his answer. The first 100 books printed wer sold out by noon. The Elwicks are in the process of ordering a second printing; those books should be available next week.
Keith and Janet greeted neighbors, friends, relatives and former Hawk-Bilt employees throughout the morning. Along with some 40-year-old newspaper clippings on display behind them, the Elwicks sat surrounded by other Hawk-Bilt memorabilia, including stickers encouraging the reader to test drive a manure spreader. A sweet Norwegian bread treat covered a tray from Norway; the book includes history of Elwick's Norwegian ancestors.
