Last October, the Vinton Knights of Columbus Marion Council 3893 held their annual Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Drive.  Formerly known as the “Tootsie Roll Drive”, the effort raised over $1,000 for two very deserving organizations that serve the Benton County area.  Pictured below is fund drive chairman Brian Larkin with Vinton-Shellsburg United Special Olympics assistant coach Mike Kramer and some of the team.  Also pictured below is Brian Larkin presenting a check to Tara Patterson of the Arc of East Central Iowa.  Both organizations received checks in the amount of $582.30.  The Vinton Knights of Columbus would like to thank Fareway, Roy’s Grocery and Theisens for allowing them to conduct the fundraiser outside their establishments.  The Knights would also like to thank the members of the community that donated to the cause.  This marks the 14th year that the Vinton Knights of Columbus have conducted this fundraiser.
