Vinton-Shellsburg High School students met a variety of representatives in many career fields on Tuesday during the annual Job and College Fair.

Many local businesses sent personnel to explain what they do in their line of work. Military recruiters and college admission representatives also offered information. VS staff members presented information about preparing for college and applying for financial aid.

Principal Matt Kinsgbury told a group of students gathered in the band room for a discussion on college that the purpose of the session was to give them an idea of "what to expect and how to prepare."

In the financial aid session, students were advised to beware of scams, including the website, www.fasfa.com, which charges users for services provided free on the www.fasfa.gov site.
