The Vinton Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the newest member to our team, Matt Boggess, as the Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation! Matt began work with our department on March 9th and has been doing a tremendous job so far. He brings to us a wealth of experiences in both the private and public sector and we look forward to the positive impacts that he will have in our programming efforts in the years ahead! Matt is a graduate from the University of Northern Iowa in the Leisure, Youth and Human Services Department. Before coming to Vinton, he was employed as a fundraising consultant for RuffaloCODY in Cedar Rapids. Prior to moving back to Iowa, Matt worked for the Department of Leisure Services for the City of Las Vegas and was responsible for allocating all of the city’s ball fields and programming at the Stacey and Amanda Darling Tennis Center. On a more personal level, Matt will be bringing to Vinton with him his wife of 10 years, Cyanna and 4 year old daughter, Rylee. Additionally, Baby Boggess #2 is expected in August! Matt states that ‘it is my goal to continue in the tradition of offering top notch quality programming to the community of Vinton by bringing knowledge and a solid foundation of experience in community recreation. I am excited to be back in the field working in a great community.’ Welcome to Vinton, Matt!
