News River R.A.T.S. will ride again; Cedar clean-up set for Aug. 8

   After a 1 year hiatus due to weather and scheduling, the R.A.T.S. are ready to clean our Cedar once again.  Join us @ 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 8th for  a 12 mile float that will take us from the Vinton ramp to Benton City and finishing up @ Wildcat.

  In the 8 years since this local grass-roots effort got under way, your R.A.T.S. have taken out over 14 dumpster loads of trash, enough tires to fill 4 trailers, enough scrap metal for 6 trailers and countless pounds of plastic, Styrofoam and just plain trash. (plus a few treasures along the way too!)  And since we took 2014 off, we are expecting to add to those numbers greatly this year. 

   Your R.A.T.S. provide all of the volunteers with bags, gloves, water, a home cooked lunch at the ½ waypoint, and shirts for the first 40 volunteers to sign in and register! 

   While this project is technically ‘work’ ~ it’s so much fun with so much camaraderie, that you’ll want to do it again every year, just like we do!
