Many people have seen the photo of the leaf-like insect and said, "What's that?"

We had the same question. 

The answer is: Luna Moth.

Experts on the unique-looking moths say that  "Luna Moth sightings grow more northernly as summer approaches, and the moths move from the southern portion of the range in Texas and Florida in the early months of the year to the northern portion of the range in Maine and Canada by May and June as spring warmth moves to northern latitudes."
