Students react as the process of turning Mr. Davis into a human ice cream sundae begins.

Shellsburg Elementary students competed for a unique prize in one of their contests this year.

The class that brought in the most box tops for the Box Tops 4 Education fund-raising program earned the right to make Principal Ryan Davis a human ice cream sundae. The students in Mr. Josh Meyer's class received that prize today, covering the principal's head with ice cream, syrup, and other toppings.

Students also received reading honors. The top reader was Tess Lillibridge, who read more than 4 million words. Others received perfect attendance awards.
