Non-runners, can you help double the race's $10,000 donation?

Runners in the Party In Pink 5K for the Virginia Gay Hospital's Foundation donated $25 each to be in the race.  The proceeds from the race will generate about $10,000 for free medical services for area women.

"I can't fully convey in words what this race and this effort means to me," says Dr. Maggie Mangold. "There is a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever a patient tells me they can't afford screenings that we know can help save lives: screenings they're often long overdue for."

Maggie also shared, "Because the volunteers of Survivors of Benton County care enough to donate all the time and effort they do, and because Virginia Gay is such a special place, I was able to tell two patients, just in this past week, that their screenings would be paid for."

You can help with a tax deductible donation to the Virginia Gay Foundation. Send a check with the memo "Double the Race" to Virginia Gay Foundation, 502 North 9th Avenue, Vinton, IA 52349. Or during the next week you can donate online at the Virginia Gay Hospital Foundation website and all online donations will go to Gifts of Hope. To donate online please click the link below.
