The Cedar Valley Humane Society provides a variety of services for pets in Eastern Iowa area.
Our primary goal is to find homes for lost and abandoned animals, but we also support other programs, initiatives and resources to help strengthen the relationship between people and their pets, such as humane education, volunteer opportunities, pet assisted therapy, pet microchip, refuge for stray and unwanted animals, pet adoption service, animal control services, end of life services, pet cremation and burial, and dog obedience training.
We provide animal control services to unincorporated Linn County and its municipalities, with the exception of Cedar Rapids, Marion, and Center Point, which have other animal control services providers. We also provide animal control services to unincorporated Benton County (dogs only), North Liberty, Swisher, Tiffin, Shueyville, Oxford, Walford, Solon, Atkins, Shellsburg, and Urbana, Vinton (dogs only) and Van Horne.
If you find a stray animal in these areas, please call Cedar Valley Humane Society first at (319) 362-6288. If they are closed, you may call your local law enforcement agency.
