The Vinton Amvets Post 218 has awarded its Amvet of the Year Award to Brian Robinson. The award is given for outstanding dedication and service. Brian is the Editor and Publisher of the Amvets monthly newletter. He has done an amazing job. His outstanding work on the newsletter has won an award from the Amvets National Headquarters. In between his newsletter compilations, he works part-time with a Veteran’s Crisis Help line, and comes out to join us for pretty close to every event we have. He jumps right in! A major improvement from the shy, quiet guy he was when he joined us! He’s also proven himself to be quite the burger and brat chef, cooking at events like the Vinton Flea Market and Boomtown. He helps with our I-380 fundraiser each year and the Highway 218 cleanup. He even finds time to grow cactus, and won 5 first place blue ribbons at the 2015 Benton County fair. Brian is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served 6 years. Brian is a huge asset to this organization. A job well done, Brian!
