The deadline for filing nomination petitions for the Vinton-Shellsburg School Board has passed, and four candidates will run unopposed for the four open seats.
Incumbents Kathy Van Steenhuyse (At-large) and Brenda Bartz (District 1) will seek re-election. Kyle Schminke is the lone candidate for the District 2 (Shellsburg area) seat now held by Angela Hazen. Jason Hicok is running unopposed for the District 1 seat now held by Megan Rickels, who did not seek re-election.
The school board election takes place Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Benton Community and Belle Plaine school districts also have no contested races.
The Benton County Auditor's Office oversees balloting for districts within the county; below is the list of polling places for all elections within the county:

The Linn County Auditor's Office administers the CP-U election. CPU has two contested elections: Teresa Davis and Daniel Jones are candidates in District 2; David Sherman and Matthew Wade are District 3 candidates. Scott Millikin is running unopposed for the at-large seat.
