Organizers are seeking wellness advocates to be a part of the upcoming Community Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, October 17 at the Vinton Skate Center. This joint venture between Virginia Gay Hospital, Clinics, Home Health, Nursing & Rehab and the Vinton Parks and Recreation Department is focused on health, wellness & safety topics of local interest. And there is still plenty of room for more health-related businesses or organizations to share their expertise regarding a healthy lifestyle.
This is the second year for this event and plans are well underway for a morning filled with something for everyone. The fair is scheduled to run from 8:30 – 11:30 am and already includes a great line-up, but as VGH Healthcare Foundation director, Mike Timmermans explains, “there’s always room for more.”
“We are excited to welcome the Iowa Children’s Museum with a couple of interactive exhibits new for this year and we are also encouraging Farmer’s Market vendors to join us,” adds Timmermans. Other early commitments include child safety seat information from the Vinton Police Department and free flu shots from VGH Home Health.
If you are a businesses, organization or farmers market vendor in the Benton County area that would like to have a booth or presentation, please contact Mike Timmermans at the VGH Healthcare Foundation office by phone, 319-472-6375 or by email at mtimmermans@vghinc.com. There are no exhibitor or registrations fees and admission is free on the day of the event.
