Albuquerque police officer Daniel Scott Webster -- known as Daniel to most people but as Scott to his family and long-time friends -- continues to recover from multiple bullet wounds sustained on Wednesday night. Webster, the father of three daughters who now live in Iowa, including Rebecca Ingham of Vinton, remains in the hospital, stable, but unconcious and in critical condition. The three Iowa women traveled to Albuquerque to be with their father in the hospital. His prognosis, both short and long term, is unknown. "Not much has changed; we are in this for the long haul," says Ingham. "The fact that he is still with us is a miracle." Ingham says the family is "almost 100% sure" they will be there for a while. "All three of us girls had to leave our children behind and it remains hard to be away, but we know they are being taken care of and that's a relief," she says. "Getting here and all of the costs of being here along with still having to take care of things at home isn't cheap." Several people have donated to the family's Go Fund Me page to help with ongoing and further expenses. "We have multiple people caring for our children and animals and homes while we are gone," says Ingham. "The support is amazing. Keep the prayers coming! He's a very strong man and continues to fight for his life. He has made some very small positive changes, but we have also had some setbacks. So keep praying!" Ingham says her family is very thankful, and impressed with the compassion and generosity of local residents toward her family and the far-away policeman. "It's amazing how our small community can all come together to help and how they show support for us and also for a man from a different state," she says. "I deep down really appreciate anything and everything that everyone has done for us and the support that continues to flow in!" The City of Albuquerque plans a vigil in honor of Officer Webster and in memory of Lilly Garcia, a 4-year-old resident killed this week in a road rage incident, this evening (Saturday, Oct. 24). The vigil, according to the City of Albuquerque web site, "will also include a call to the community to make a commitment to end senseless acts of violence in our City." A press release from the APD offers this summary of the incident and a very brief update on Webster's condition: On Wednesday, October 21, 2015 tragedy struck the Albuquerque Police Department. Officer Dan Webster was attempting to take into custody a violent felon named Davon Lymon. An altercation ensued as Lymon resisted arrest and he shot Officer Webster numerous times striking him in the neck, arm, and chest. He is currently in critical condition and his prognosis both short and long term is unknown. Officer Webster has been a police officer with APD for 8 years. He is the type of officer every department strives to have. He always goes above and beyond in everything he does. Supervisors both past and present say he never gives less than 110% in any task at hand. He is dedicated to protecting the citizens of Albuquerque and is a great mentor to the new officers. Officer Webster also is constantly reaching out to the community. Many people know him by first name and he doesn't hesitate to stop and talk to them when he can. Prior to being a police officer he served with the United States Army. He has been deployed to Iraq two times and served his country just like he serves the city of Albuquerque; with honor, dignity, and pride.

TS October 24, 2015, 6:25 pm My thoughts and prayers are with Scott and his family. This has to be so hard for all of them and I\'m sure his girls could use any donation that can be given. God Bless Them.
