The kick-off this year was November 2nd when donors put their trees up in the Virginia Gay Hospital lobby. The event ends at 5 PM on November 24th. 2015 is the 6th year Holiday trees and decorations donated by departments within Virginia Gay, area businesses, and members of the community adorn the lobby of VGH before being taken home by the highest bidder.

Proceeds from this year's event will be donated to the VGH Healthcare foundation and used the new clinic construction project.

The Holiday Tree Walk was first organized by the Cardio-Pulmonary Department’s Kim Swore and Colleen Long, with additional assistance from Kim Frank. The first year featured 19 trees and about $1,000 was raised for the Virginia Gay Healthcare Foundation. In 2014 there were 55 items featured and the project reached its goal of raising $10,000 in Foundation donations. Kim Swore, Colleen, and Kim Frank have all continued working to make each year’s effort a success.
