Many area residents participated in fund-raising activities throughout October, the traditional Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At this week's meeting of the Benton Count Breast Cancer Survivors, three donations were accepted.
Alan Merchant presented a check for $1080; he painted many pink ribbons on local lawns to support the group.
The ladies also receive a donation from Nature's Corner "Bling a Bra" event. Fareway employees also donated to wear pink one day recently and delivered that donation to the group.
The money will be used by the group to fund pink blankets, gas cards, and other appropriate items to recently-diagnosed breast cancer patients.
The group meets for dinner the second Monday of each month at Windsor Manor.
