News : Tilford PTO box top drive success continues

Meggen McNeill and Tilford Principal Jim Murray celebrate the success of box top fund-raising.

Tilford Elementary students and their families brought in nearly 50,000 box tops from a variety of products over the past year, continuing a successful fund-raising trend.

Meggan McNeill of the PTO and Tilford Principal Jim Murray recently announced that this year's proceeds are $4,759 -- 10 cents for each of the 47,590 box tops brought in through the PTO's participation in Box Tops 4 Education.

McNeill and Shawn Van Fossen work on the program throughout the year, and Van Fossen does much of the volunteer work in counting and sending off the box tops.

The money helps fund PTO events, field trips and Tilford year-end activities.
