News : VPD seeking items for historical display

The VPD hopes to add historical items to a new display at its City Hall office.

The Vinton Police Department is seeking historical items that represent the past of the VPD, for a new display.

In the near future, the area of City Hall that houses the VPD will be remodeled, and the VPD office will expand into the area currently used by Vinton Unlimited (which will move to another office in City Hall). A glass display case currently contains a figurine of a police officer and a little boy. The department hopes to fill the case with historical artifacts from the history of local policing, as well as newspaper clippings and other documents.
