Wendy Schwab of Belle Plaine was traveling through Vinton on her motorcycle when she realized that her 5x7-inch zippered portfolio had fallen from her sidebag. She and friends stopped to search for it, then reported it missing to the Benton County Sheriff's office.

This happened at around 10 a.m. on Thursday. By 1 p.m., Schwab had the portfolio, and all of its contents, back in her hands.A woman had returned it to the Sheriff's Office, without leaving a name.

The portfolio contained many important items, and all were still inside, said Schwab, who hopes to find out the name of the honest person who returned it. Schwab requested that the person who returned the portfolio contact Vinton Today so she can thank them personally. Our email address is vintontoday@hotmail.com.

"I am very grateful for the honesty of the woman who found it, and the Benton County Sheriff's Office was awesome," said Schwab.
