When the guests arrive at Virginia Gay Hospital for the Initial Tree Lighting Ceremony tonight (Thursday, Nov. 18), a wreath donated by Mark and Carol Timmer will be among the decorations they see when they enter the lobby. The Timmers donated have donated the wreath, which was assembled by members of the Red Cedar Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, to the hospital. VGH Foundation Director Mike Timmermans and VGH Administrator Mike Riege accepted the wreath on behalf of VGH.
The tree lighting event takes place tonight at 7 p.m., following the Patriotic Veterans Christmas Parade and the arrival of Santa at the courthouse lawn. The public is invited to attend the brief ceremony, as well as to see the 20 trees donated by area businesses and VGH families, as well as the wreaths made by the members of the Rehab Services.
