Kiwanis President Tom Husnik and David Gates help to present dictionaries to area 3rd graders

Each year, the Vinton Kiwanis Club delivers dictionaries to the 3rd grade classes in the Vinton Shellsburg School District.

Making the delivery this year were Alexa Spiedel, Dave Gates and President Tom Husnik.

Each of the 3rd grade students received their own copies and quickly began to read through the extras in the back of the book. The longest word which came in at 1,900+ letters is always a hit with the students.

The Kiwanis shared with the students some of the upcoming projects, including the splash pad at Kiwanis Park, the pancake breakfast in March, a Bike rodeo as well as a fishing day in June at one of the Benton County Parks.
