Class XVII Team Leaders have officially invaded Vinton yet again. The heavy snowfall on January 10, 2011 did not deter anyone from showing up. After a few delays due to airports closing, 25 new young people arrived in Vinton to begin their service on Tuesday, January 11. Now all together for the journey that will lead them through the next year of service, the new Team Leaders are eager to start working in the Vinton community and nearby states.

The new group of Team Leaders will serve from January 11 to November 23. With Class XVII Corps Members coming in next month, days are full with training for the Team Leaders. Whether they are learning about the extensive paperwork they will need to complete to document the year or how to lead a team, NCCC Team Leaders will be training for an entire month before the Corps Members arrive on February 15. Training will continue in Vinton for the Team Leaders and Corps Members until Mid-March when they will all be sent out on their first projects.

In true NCCC style, Team Leaders represent several different states across the country. As always, all of the new additions to the Vinton community are excited to be here and have already met several members of the Vinton community. The Team Leaders will be wandering around the City of Lights for the next few weeks in order to experience everything that the community has to offer.
