The VSHS Debate Team competed at the State contest this weekend.
First time honor for VSHS Debate team: Alysha Wehage and Bradley Bergen advance to Quarterfinals.
The VSHS Debate team: Hannah Leichsenring, Erin Fowler, Alysha Wehage, Bradley Bergen, Willow Huber and Morgan Latting deserve credit for on their "strong performance" at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s State Debate Tournament held in Ankeny this past weekend, says VSHS speech teacher and coach Eric Upmeyer.
Two of those members received special honors for their efforts.
Alysha Wehage and Bradley Bergen advanced to the Quarter Finals round – a first for any Vinton-Shellsburg Team.
Wehage also received recognition as one of the “Top 10 Speakers” in her division.
