News : VINTON-SHELLSBURG 2020-21 SCHOOL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration for the 2020-21 school year will be available online starting July 22nd . There will not be a registration day at the high school.

Please register and pay your fees online using the instructions found on our website. Payments online can be made via check or credit/debit card. Registration will be open online without a service fee July 22-August 14, 2020.

Beginning August 4, you may call your building secretaries with any questions or if you need log-in assistance.

FREE & REDUCED FEES APPLICATIONS

If you have not received the certification letter for free or reduced meals and fees, the application is on-line or available in the buildings starting August 4. Please complete the form to apply and turn it into the building secretary August 10TH -14TH between the hours of 9:00-11:30 am and 1-3 pm.

HS Students New to the Vinton-Shellsburg District may contact the guidance office (436-5704) beginning August 10th to schedule an appointment for registration with their counselor. Appointments will be scheduled between Aug. 17th to 21st so that all new students can be enrolled in their courses by the first day of school (Aug. 24th).

MS Students & Elementary Students New to the Vinton-Shellsburg District should come to the building starting August 4 to begin the process of registering. If your child needs to ride the bus please call Eric Kakac, Transportation Director at 319-472-3118.

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS OF CHILDREN STARTING KINDERGARTEN:

School officials cannot allow your child to enter school unless the child has a current completed certificate of immunization. Please bring the completed immunization certificate with you when you come to register your child. A lead screening, vision screening, and a dental screening for kindergarteners starting school the fall of 2020 is also required.

7th GRADE STUDENTS

The Iowa Department of Public Health rules are requiring that all 7th graders receive a booster of tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap). This was implemented at the beginning of the 2013-14 school year. We would recommend that students in the higher grades also receive a one-time booster of Tdap. If your student has not received this required booster please do so before the school year starts. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact the school nurse at Kristin.hallberg@vscsd.org or you may call 319-436-5635. Our school district is required to have a current immunization record for every student. The IDPD audits this every year.

**All 2019-20 invoiced Tech fees due to damage or loss are past due and must be paid as part of 2020-21 registration.
