Ryker Bailey of Vinton was born with just one kidney. The little 3-year-old, his mom said is fun-loving and outgoing in spite of all he's been through. In his 3 years he's gone through 30 surgeries and continues the battle to survive.

Currently, in the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital, he is suffering from kidney failure.

Parents, Josh Bailey and Alyssa Varner are not able to donate a kidney to little Ryker and are now asking for the public's help to locate a kidney for their son. For starters, Ryker has a B+ blood type, and if you are interested in helping Ryker or anyone else, go to this website uiowa.donorscreen.org to share your information for consideration.

Ryker has begun to have blood clots form on his heart valves and in his legs. His dad Josh said that the surgeries have all begun to take a toll on the little boy's body. His condition has bumped him up to active status on the donor list three weeks ago.

Because of the situation with COVID 19, the family has had to give up their jobs to protect Ryker. The couple is currently relying on the generosity of family and friends to help cover their expenses as they continue to care for Ryker. If you would like to lend a hand click on this link.
