News : VS Middle School and High School musicians perform Band Extravaganza

The VSHS band begins its Band Extravaganza performance.

The annual Vinton-Shellsburg Band Extravaganza concert took place Tuesday evening in the Middle School gym. The VSMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands performed, followed by the High School band.

Sixth grade songs included: Cool Cat Shuffle, Galactic Episode, Daffy Ditty and Let's Go Band. Seventh graders performed The Barrington Overture, On A Spring Morning and The Big Circus March. The eighth grade band played Shackelford Banks, The Beatles Forever and Alamo. High school musicians played The Greek Folk Song Suite, Monterosi and music from "Gladiator."

Jodi Bierschenk directed the Middle School bands; Karl Smith led the VSHS musicians.
