News : Residents invited to watch AmeriCorps induction tonight at VSHS auditorium

The AmeriCorps Class 17 members have been training for several weeks. They will have their official induction into the program next Wednesday, March 16 (tonight). The ceremony takes place in the Vinton-Shellsburg High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited. The teams from the Cedar, Oak and Maple units will leave Vinton the next day for the first of their long-term projects.

Her family in Georgia and in Wisconsin (specifically Milwaukee, which happens to be their first assignment!) is very proud of her endeavors in this program. Our best wishes for a successful project in Milwaukee and for the future projects as well. Happy Birthday also to Allison. She celebrated earlier this past week but her actual birthday is on March 20th...the first day of Spring!
