News : VSHS speech students earn 15 Division 1 ratings

These VSHS speech students earned Division 1 ratings at State event.

Congratulations to the Vinton-Shellsburg High School speech team for their wonderful performances at the State Individual Speech Contest held in Vinton, Saturday March 12. Of 19 events, 15 earned I ratings. Those students receiving I ratings are:

Ms. Cox, Mrs. Horst and Mr. Upmeyer, and would like thank everyone who helped make the state contest a success. We were very pleased with the willingness of so many who volunteered -we can’t tell you how much we appreciated it. Thank You!

A special congratulations goes to Bradley Bergan for being nominated to All-State Speech in the area of Spontaneous Speaking. This is the highest honor by the Iowa High School Speech Association. He will be performing at UNI at the All-State Festival on March 28. Congratulations, Bradley!!
