The Benton Co. Recorder’s Office is hosting a special passport event at the Benton Co. Courthouse, 111 E 4th St. Vinton, Iowa on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications. The Benton Co. Recorder’s Office is joining the Department of State in celebrating Passport Day in the USA 2011, a national passport acceptance and outreach event.

We do accept passport applications during normal business hours, but this event provides additional time for persons needing to apply.

U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government.

Applications are available at www.travel.state.gov or we have applications. Just bring your certified copy of your birth certificate, your driver’s license and we take on-site photos. For more info, contact Lexa Speidel @ 319-472-3309.
