Cooling Dancers have successful weekend in competition - Pre-Teen Large Group, 1st Place Awards

Pre-Teen Line, You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile

Ready to perform- Fred Astaire Medley

62 dancers from the Cooling Dance Center of Vinton competed April 2 and 3 at the Midwest Starz Regional Dance Competition. The event was held at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, and featured hundreds of dance routines competing on two stages throughout the two days.

Dancers competed in various styles and age groupings before a panel of three judges in a theatrical setting. Entries were judged on technical competence, precision, stage presentation, and costuming. Awards were given in each dance style and age division, with high point awards going to the top five routines in each age group, all dance styles combined. Cooling Dancers won numerous awards including three high point honors at the event.

All five Vinton entries will be continuing on to the national finals at the Kalahari Hotel and Convention Center in the Wisconsin Dells June 16-19. Additionally, dancer Taryn Sutton, 9, of Vinton, was selected as a standout dancer at the event. She will be performing in a special production routine with other standout dancers from a six state region at the Starz National Finals in the Wisconsin Dells.
