Bird lovers have been seeing pelicans throughout the area north of Vinton in recent weeks.

A flock of American White Pelicans was seen just north of the Cedar River bridge on Tuesday. Many area residents have been watching the birds for the past several weeks, in waterways througout the area. While many people think of pelicans as warm-climate birds, conservationists have been observing them in Iowa for many years.
