Barely a day goes by here in the Vinton Lutheran Home & Assisted Living Apartments without a volunteer brightening the lives of our residents. Whether it’s the weekly TLCU Sing-A-Long, assisting with Chapel Services or helping with the Ice Cream Social, many family members and people from surrounding towns & churches give their time generously throughout the year. It may be one of the 45+ member Auxiliary that began 40 years ago in 1971, a Chapel Helper, a student from one of the local schools or area youth groups, family member, or our own Residents & staff- every person helps enhance the “Home”-like environment that we are already blessed with.

On Monday April 11th, the Vinton Lutheran Home hosted their annual Volunteer Appreciation Tea. The Lutheran Home Auxiliary and many other volunteers received a Certificate of Appreciation. Auxiliary members who have completed 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service received pins in their honor. Refreshments were served to all in attendance.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Lutheran Home Communities, please call Sarah Hepker, Activity Director at (319)472-4751.

Thank you to those of you who have given your time to our residents and organization throughout the years. God has provided us with a generous community that doesn’t hesitate to reach out and lend a helping hand!
