AmeriCorps NCCC Maple 4 members clean the Vinton pool; the team will make many improvements there.
Vinton's pool, parks and events will keep Maple 4 members busy in May and June.
While many of the AmeriCorps NCCC teams have left VInton to spend several weeks working in other states, the Maple 4 team will be working through May and June with the Vinton Parks and Recreation Department.
The team began by cleaning at the pool, where they will spend much of the month of May. Painting of the pool, bath house, water slide as well as construction of lifeguard chairs and other projects at the pool are also on the schedule.
They will also make improvements to other city park buildings and plant trees. The members will also be involved in the VPRD activities for May and June, including Party in the Park, Farmer's Markets and the Memorial Day Celebration at Veterans Park, which was built by an earlier AmeriCorps NCCC team.
