On Monday, April 10th members of the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter held their annual Volunteer Auction. The Volunteer Auction is a chance where members are able to volunteer for eight hours to members and organizations within the community.

Parents of members, guests, and other community members are able to come to the auction and donate money for the volunteer efforts of members. An auction is held to raise money for different events held by the chapter, as well as help fund travels to State and National Conventions.

This year the chapter was able to have 47 members participate in the fundraiser. They raised $19,125 to put towards upcoming events. During the Summer, seven students will be attending the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, DC. Since these students are required to raise and fundraise money in order to attend, they decided that they would be auctioned off a second time.

The fundraiser was a huge success not only for the WLC students but also for the chapter and all members attending leadership conferences.
