Ehlinger's Express celebrated their new look, new pumps and new brand with their grand re-opening on Saturday.

In March, the business closed down for a few days to install new pumps adding the latest technology and security features under the BP brand. The business expanded its line of fuel offerings supporting Iowa's Agriculture industry. They added  E10, and E15 both ethanol blends next to the BP Ultimate, an ethanol-free alternative, and diesel fuel E15 to their offerings to the community.  The station also added a second diesel pump to accommodate traffic.

As part of the $300,000 investment in the upgrades to the business, Ehlinger's was able to tap into the Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program. Ehlinger's was one of 26 different applicants to the program and received a $50,000.00 grant to help with the costs to upgrade.

The Iowa Secretary of Agriculture said that the program helps fuel retailers provide higher blends of lower cost Iowa grown biofuels to consumers. By incentivizing the installation, replacement and conversion of ethanol and biodiesel dispensing and storage infrastructure. Incentives, retailers can upgrade biodiesel terminals and storage facilities. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship manages the program, and a board appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Iowa Senate determines grant allocations on a quarterly basis.

"Consumers save money when they can fill their tanks with higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel," said Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig. "By helping fuel retailers install this infrastructure, we are continually increasing the number of Iowa fueling stations where consumers can buy cleaner burning and more affordable homegrown biofuels."

As part of the grand re-opening the station offered E15 for a whopping $1.99 per gallon to their customers.
