The recent collaboration between Virginia Gay Hospital and Allen College created an exciting opportunity for high school students from Center Point-Urbana, Vinton-Shellsburg, Belle Plaine, and Benton Community to explore careers in healthcare. Held on October 22, the event was part of the Health Careers Club initiative, designed to give students hands-on experiences in various healthcare fields.

Students rotated through four educational stations-Lab, Imaging, Acute Care Nursing, and Therapy-each lasting 20-25 minutes. These sessions allowed students to actively participate in learning experiences, such as practicing physical therapy stretches, working with innovative equipment, gaining insights into nursing, and exploring ultrasound technology. Hospital staff led the activities, providing valuable career insights and fostering student engagement.
