North Benton Ambulance director Anna Demuth, was nominated for and recognized as the Career EMS Provider of the Year out of the entire state of Iowa. The award is presented to directors who "demonstrated excellence in their work and has gone above and beyond in their service to Iowans."
A ceremony took place on Saturday in Des Moines to recognize Demuth.
Tami Stark-Mahood, one of Vinton's at-large City Council Members attended the ceremony and said, "As a member of the NBA Board, I would like to express how proud we as a Board are of Anna and her entire NBA crew.
To be nominated for an award like this by her peers is an honor in itself, but to receive it and to have her work and tireless dedication to NBA and EMS as a whole, recognized and appreciated above all in the state is outstanding. NBA and our surrounding EMS services have seen great change and progression, due largely to Anna's dedication. We are ALL fortunate to have her leadership as our Director of NBA and on Benton Co. EMSAC.
Scott Geissinger who also serves on the board said of Demuth, "I find it hard to believe there is anyone more deserving of this award in the state of Iowa, very few if any in the US.
Beginning the day the board hired her, Anna has shown her dedication to North Benton Ambulance Service here in Vinton. Her compassion for EMS has reached out to benefit Benton EMS Association and she was instrumental in getting EMS as an Essential passed in Benton County.
We are proud to have her with us."
Congratulations Anna!
