News : Vinton's Downtown made more beautiful with Flowers

Flowers arrive downtown ready to be placed in planters.

The Cottage Garden Society along with help from the Vinton Parks and Recreation Department came up with a plan to make downtown Vinton bloom. Planters were added to the light poles in the downtown are where baskets were placed. Inside these are placed two semi-circles with flowers that have been grown and sent to Vinton. 

Around 50 pots and hanging baskets around the downtown area were filled with the flowers that are in full bloom now. The plants were set into the containers and will only need to be watered throughout the summer, something that Vinton Parks and Rec will take care of.

The plan for the flowers was presented to the council a few months ago. With contributions they were purchased and placed.
