On March 31, 2026, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter hosted its annual Volunteer Auction, bringing together students and community members for one of the chapter’s biggest fundraisers of the year. Each FFA member donated eight hours of labor, which were auctioned off to local buyers. Community members could bid on a variety of services, including yard work, farm labor, babysitting, cleaning, and other household tasks.
The event saw strong participation, with competitive bidding throughout the night. Teresa Merchant also contributed by donating homemade baked goods, which added to the success of the fundraiser. By the end of the evening, the chapter raised a total of $14,665. The funds will be used to support FFA activities such as leadership conferences, competitions, and chapter events.
The Volunteer Auction continues to be a reliable way for the chapter to raise funds while giving members the opportunity to put their skills to work in the community.
