Veridian Credit Union officially became the premier title sponsor of the 2010 Boomtown event this week, after donating $5,000 to the event.
"Boomtown is a great event and we wanted to be part of it," said Veridian Communication Specialist Jennifer Roberts. "Boomtown has a great reputation and we want to be big promoters of it."
Roberts said the credit union will be involved in helping with marketing and promotion of Boomtown. The Veridian partnership includes a substantial amount of publicity, including television and radio advertising. Roberts and Regional Manager Tina Hogan met with the members of the Boomtown Committee at the Fairgrounds on Thursday to present the check.

About Boomtown:
Boomtown is held in Vinton at the Benton County Fairgrounds in association with the Iowa Pyrotechnic Association’s (IPA) annual meeting. While this will be the 4th Annual Boomtown, it is the first time this event has had a presenting sponsorship. Boomtown will be held on Saturday, September 18. The IPA will kick-off the day with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. The day will include live entertainment, family-friendly activities and a grand celebration of fireworks. There will also be pyrotechnic demonstrations and competitions. The main attraction will begin at approximately 9 p.m. It will include thousands of shells lit into explosive colors, all synchronized to music and detonated via a computer-controlled launch sequence. The music for the event is also broadcast live over 93.5 FM. Boomtown is the invention of the Iowa Pyrotechnic Association and Vinton Unlimited and is managed by a volunteer committee.
