Scouts filled many bags with trash after cleaning the ditches along Highway 150 this weekend.

Troop 47 Scouts spent the weekend north of Vinton in two different ways.

The Webelos and their parents spent Saturday night and Sunday at the Sampson property, where they camped overnight. As Webelos, the boys are preparing for promotion from Cub to Boy Scouts, and the camping weekend was designed to give them an introduction into what they will study at the next level.

Meanwhile, the Troop 47 Boy Scouts spent several hours with their leaders helping to clean the ditch along Highway 150 north of Vinton. The Scouts and leaders do this each spring and fall. They collected several bags of garbage from along the road.
