News : One injured in accident on C Avenue in Vinton Friday

A female driver was taken by ambulance to Virginia Gay Hospital after a two-vehicle accident on C Avenue in Vinton Friday afternoon.

Authorities responded to the accident shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday. A Ford pickup was stopped on the northbound lane of C Avenue, waiting to turn into a private driveway. A four-door sedan collided with the back of the pick-up, causing an airbag in the car to deploy. The driver of the car sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The Vinton Fire Department, Vinton Police Department and North Benton Ambulance responded to the call.
