Former county resident Kenneth Pappas charged with sexual abuse

Kenneth Wesley Pappas, 38 of Mt.Vernon, was arrested Thursday Feb. 23, by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Pappas has been charged with two counts of second degree sexual abuse (Class 'B' felonies), two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, (Class 'D' felonies) and child endangerment causing bodily injury (Class 'D' felony).

Pappas, who lived in rural BentonCountyfor several years, is accused of having sexual intercourse with a minor female on more than one occasion while he lived in rural Benton County. He is currently being held in the Benton County Jail on a $ 50,000 bond.

Here I am, another Kenn Pappas, completely unrelated to the featured perpetrator of a crime in a city in which I don\'t reside, and the name \"Kenneth Pappas\" is posted in such a way on this site that it\'s damaging to all people with the name Kenneth Pappas ... this is defamatory, irresponsible, and reprehensible that this site does not take down the posting, since it\'s over nine months old.
Editor\'s Note: Are you also 38 years old, from Benton County, Iowa? If so, then we may have to make some changes; if not, it\'s pretty clearly identified....

KP November 15, 2012, 1:12 pm Hey, my name is Kenn Pappas, too. I\'m not this guy, but you\'re making me look guilty by association. Can you please remove this from your site? It\'s all over Google, and it\'s old news. Why would you want to damage everyone with this name? I\'m a published author, and you\'re hurting my cause ... . I\'ll be civil at this writing. Please don\'t make me take legal action.

KP November 15, 2012, 10:44 pm Hey, why don\'t you Google \"Kenn Pappas\" ... you\'ll see my name as a published author, and then immediately afterward, the name \"Kenneth Pappas\" as a sex offender, the guy you\'ve got posted on your website. Can you please take your posting down? I\'m a resume writer by profession. I always give police officers, firefighters, and city personnel a discount as well as military personnel. I am supportive of law enforcement. I realize that your posting is unintentionally making me look like a criminal due to the way Google places the postings (my books, your posting of the sexual offender). However, it\'s not good for my cause in the slightest, and I\'m not an offender by any means. I\'m 57, and a pretty nice guy.
Editor\'s Note: We did Google Ken Pappas. He is also an security architect with a major computer company, a professor in Arkansas, and a Michigan policeman arrested for beating his wife. We can\'t take the story down, but I am writing a story about why. There are also other newspapers with the story still on their web sites, too.

kp November 19, 2012, 12:14 pm This site is irresponsible, and unfortunately, gives a bad name to members of the Benton community.

This is an abuse of technology. Rather than merely incarcerate someone or flag them punitively, the site also damages individuals who just happen to be known by the same name.

This site gives a bad name to law enforcement primarily because it does not consider irreparable ramifications where one person can be harmed due to another\'s crime.

Please, sirs, reconsider what you are doing. Perhaps one or more of you bear a personal grudge against this molester, Kenneth Pappas. However, he\'s not me.

I\'m 57, and I can assure you, I\'m a real tough dude, not a wimp like the picture of the guy you\'ve posted.
