A $718,405 state grant will help the City of Vinton make street improvements for industrial development on the growing West 13th Street.

The Iowa Transportation Commission approved a grant of up to $718,405 RISE (Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy) program to reconstruct 2,000 feet of West 13th Street. The project includes turn-lane improvements on Highway 218 at West 13th Street.

The project will provide better access to more than 61 acres for future light industrial development. Completion is expected in May 2014, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.
