News : 'See You at the Pole:' Student prayer event set for Sept. 26

The annual "See You At The Pole” prayer event for school students in Vinton as well as across the U.S. will take place this Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Students and others are invited to meet at the flag poles at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School and Middle School at 7:30 am. (If there is a late start due to fog we will meet at 9:30 am.) Organizers will have a list of names of school employees to pray for and a few verses to help with the prayer time.

Also, this year First Baptist Church would like to gather the youth and “prep” them for this prayer time. The church plans a youth rally Sunday, September 23 from 3-4:30 at Kiwanis Park in Vinton. All Vinton-Shellsburg youth, 6th-12th grade are invited. There will be snacks, games and a devotional time. If it is raining, the plan is to meet at First Baptist Church on the corner of 6th Street and 1st Avenue in Vinton.
