On Monday, September 24th, the activity of the day was a Pepper Card Party. There were three tables of players. Bill Milne won 1st place with 293 points. Bernadine Barr won 2nd place with 272 points. Third place went to Geri Shaffer with 271 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, September 25th, Bob Hauser provided the afternoon musical entertainment.

On Wednesday, September 26th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. June Salerno handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “X” with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with Faye Goodell and Greta Geiken winning. Game three was All Around the Free Spot with Paul Fix winning. Game four was a Flag with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Paul Fix, Mae Wilhelmi, and JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, September 27th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Ruth Wieditz handpicked the games. Game one was Around the Free Space and Four Corners with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game two was Stair Steps with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Faye Goodell winning. Game four was a 9-Pack with Clete Friedman winning. Faye Goodell won game five with a Blackout.

On Friday, September 28th, there were 4 tables of 500 played. Merle Roths won 1st place with 3,380 points. Clete Friedman won 2nd place with 3,120 points. Margaret Fuehrer won 3rd place with 3,120 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Monday, October 1st, we welcomed Jim and JoAnn as well as Mike and Angie, guests of Faye Goodell. There were 4 tables of Pepper Cards played. Dixie Lee Joens won 1st place with 270 points. Darlene Werning won 2nd place with 265 points. Patty McKenna won 3rd place with 243 points. After the games, Esther Novotny brought cookies in celebration of her birthday. Other refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, October 2nd, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Hazel Eastwood handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Greta Geiken winning a candle holder. Game two was the Letter “X” with Marion Isbell winning playing cards. Game three was Postage Stamps with Faye Goodell winning a meal ticket. Game four was Stair Steps with George Eckhart winning a necklace. Hazel Eastwood won a cooking spoon on game five with Blackout.

On Wednesday, October 3rd, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Linda Lough was the volunteer caller. Marion Isbell handpicked the games. Game one was Frame the Card with Wanda McNitt winning. Game two was a Flag with Clete Friedman winning. Game three was a Picnic Table with Faye Goodell winning. Game four was the Letter “I” with June Salerno winning. Paul Fix and June Salerno won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, October 4th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Riggle and Roster.

On Friday, October 5th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party with 5 tables of players. Leroy Weiser won 1st place with 4,010 points. Wilma Loutsch won 2nd place with 3,640 points. Edna Schutt won 3rd place with 3,180 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
