During the week of Thanksgiving many people got in a tough workout while offering encouragement to a number of families in the community. Vitality and Just Breathe Pilates hosted their first annual Holiday Fit Fest to keep people fit this Holiday seson as well as raise support for local families.

Classes were free except participants who attended gave donations of toiletries to help local families. One added challenge; for every 10 people in attendance, the owners, Alexa Schirm and Julie Lessig would purchase one turkey for a family. Over the course of three days, over 275 pounds of toiletries and eight turkeys were purchased. Julie and Alexa said, "We were impressed by the number of donations people made. We feel fortunate to be able to help the community in this way and look forward to doing it again the week before Christmas. It is a gift we can give our loyal clients and a wonderful opportunity to help those in need."

The Holiday Fit Fest continues next week, December 18th-20th. If you are looking to get a good workout and help local families come join them a the Braille School Gym at 5:10 am or 6:00 am and bring donations of toiletries. They plan to match this round with a ham for every 10 people that attend, so they are hoping for big numbers. "It's a great opportunity to help those in need while getting in a great workout!"
