On December 17, 2012 at approximately 21:46 hours, Benton County Sheriff’s office received a report of a car fire in the 6100 Block of 32nd Ave, Benton County. Deputies located the accident scene and noted the vehicle was fully engulfed. Vinton Police Department located the owner/driver at 1009, 1st Ave in Vinton. The driver was identified as Cory Lee Kintzel age 37 from Vinton. During the investigation the Vinton Police Department, Benton County Sheriff’s Office and a Benton County K9 Unit located more than a ½ pound of marijuana and approximately $7800.00 in cash on the property. All contraband has been seized as evidence in the case.

Cory Lee Kintzel was subsequently charged in Benton County with:

Possession with intent to deliver - class D felony

Failure to affix a drug tax stamp – class D felony

Possession of drug paraphernalia- simple misdemeanor

Operating while intoxicated – serious misdemeanor.

Kintzel is being held in the Benton County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment.
