The Vinton Public Library Summer Reading Program is bringing magician/comedian Mike Prestby to Vinton, Monday, June 21.
Prestby will perform at the Vinton Skate Center at 10:30 a.m. Monday. His show focuses on the importance of reading. He uses water-themed illusions and stories that connect with the theme of this year's reading program, "Make a Splash-Read."
The puppet Alligator Sir Chomps A Lot will help Prestby tell the stories of Dead Eye Duck, Oscar the Oyster and Percy the (dishonest) Parrot. Kids should also look for Ernie the live duck to magically appear.
The public is invited to this free event. Each child who attends will receive a free magic jumbo dollar filled with tricks.
Prestby will also be offering his new book, which he will sign for those who buy a copy Monday.
